Benton House is run primarily by live-in staff and volunteers.  With a limited budget and no employed staff, an estimated 1000 people visit our buildings every week for one reason or another.  The average monthly budget (paying the bills) for both buildings averages $4500 per month.  We run at a profit / loss margin of 10% or less.  That's a tight budget but we want you to help us do more.

Want to help fund the many projects happening in our programs or facilities?  Of course you do.  Donations pledged here will directly go to covering the costs of material and labor needed to update and renovate our programming space.  Check out some of the projects and wishlist items below!

Yearly Maintenance of Gym Floor: $800

My Name is Ben. * &%^%##$^&* My Name is Ty

In early 2013, the Gym floor was completely refinished for the first time in decades, with the help of funds raised from the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and their annual basketball tournament. The Gym hosts Athletic activities seven days a week, along with family and community gatherings, and is the waiting area for our weekly Food Pantry. Hundreds of people use the gym every week, and this produces wear on the floor. Just over a year later, we are finding ourselves in need of maintenance work to keep the floors in squeaky, new condition. A light sanding and top coat of polyurethane has been estimated at $800 in material and labor. This work needs to be done for the Gym to continue being a top-quality, destination facility for youth and adult members to engage in healthful recreation.

For more information about the Gym, see the Athletics page.

Faurot Hall Roof Maintenance, $1500

[ Open / Close Description ]

The roofs on both buildings need work, but the 3052 building, Faurot Hall, which houses the resident quarters, administrative offices, recording studio and fabrication shop need immediate attention. With the funds raised for this project, we will be able to buy enough maintenance coating and fiber mesh to mitigate many of the problem areas of the roof and avoid further water damage.
