Megan McDonald

Megan graduated from UIC in May 2012 majoring in Sociology and minoring in Gender and Women’s Studies. After graduation, she started volunteering at Benton House in September of 2012 with the desire to become more connected to the Bridgeport community. Megan became a resident in March 2013 with the intention to pursue her passion in food justice and took on the role of coordinator of Benton House’s community garden, Backyard Botany. She is also involved in the weekly food pantry and civic engagement projects. Some continuing goals are organizing music shows and social justice workshops to help raise funds for Benton House and work on ways to fight systemic problems locally.
