Youth Technology Corps (YTC)

Youth Technology Corps (YTC) is dedicated to transforming the lives of teens in challenged communities by connecting them to 21st century technology so they can discover new interests, learn relevant life/job skills and develop the confidence to secure a better future for themselves and their communities.
The solid foundation of the YTC program has been and continues to be the refurbishment and upgrading of personal computers, donated by individuals, businesses and institutions. Students in this program start with hands-on experience, in which skilled instructors show them how to take computers apart, test the components, and create working machines. The students fix hardware and load new software. In the process, they gain comfort and familiarity with PC technology from the inside out.
Students in the YTC program also develop leadership and teaching skills as they run and maintain a computer lab at Benton House, and teach others in the community how to use the computers.
Benton House is proud to be in partnership with YTC and look forward to furthering its programming.
